How to move your domains off GoDaddy

Its common internet knowledge that GoDaddy is one of the worst, most unfriendly registrars out there. Go to NoDaddy for all sorts of nasty things that GoDaddy that make them completely disreputable, or google “godaddy sucks” for a thousand other reasons.
What’s less common is knowing how to actually get your domains off […]

I can haz tweets?

I’ve held out from using twitter for as long as possible, but I think being at conferences is one of the few times it actually really has some useful purpose.
Here’s my profile page, or you can add me as ‘rsanheim’.

Finally, a new theme and dropping the www

Finally, some long overdue updates here.
The old theme here was way beyond tired - I’m now using Derek’s wonderfully clean theme. I think I broke the feed for a little bit there, but it should be back up and properly redirecting to feed burner.

Upgraded Wordpress…

I’ve finally upgraded this blog to the latest Wordpress. Apologies if my feed refreshes or you notice any sort of weirdness as I work out the kinks.

With a Quickness

Busy busy. Blogging has falling to the bottom of the list, but I’m going to make an attempt to raise it back up, if only for five minutes a day. News and few advanced-ish level Ruby links today.

BrainBuster, the little logic captcha that could, is now protecting the official Rails wiki, at least […]

Whatever Happened to MeasureMap?

It seems like ages ago that Measure Map was acquired by Google. Is anything going to come of that? I’ve had access to a beta account for awhile (not for this blog) and the simplicity and interface are wonderful - its pretty much the anti-Analytics. Analytics looks and feels like a very […]

Rails Conf 2006, this blog, and biking

Jim and I leave here in about six hours to try and beat the rush hour traffic to Chicago for Rails Conf. I should probalby try to get some sleep. I’ll try to cover the event for Ajaxian, tho I’m not sure how much true ajax related content there will be. I […]

Moderating Comments…

I’m moderating comments now until I get some spam plugins installed, the spam bots are getting worse (ie smarter). Sorry about that…I’ll approve anything civil and not spam, of course.

Ajaxian provides more traffic then del.icio.us/popular?

Well, it might just be one data point, but the guys at alwaysbeta saw more traffic from our post on their lightbox mod then from getting on the front page of del.icio.us/popular.

My theory is that noone really browses delicious for random sites - its primarily a service used by nerds, and as nerds […]

Five Things to Improve Your blog (plus One)

A good list of five ways to improve your blog in under an hour, by Brian Shih. The five things are: use feedburner, ping aggregators, fix your typography, use spell check (does spellbound work on FF 1.5.1?) and just write something!
I would add: write an about page with a brief bio […]
